AARP Chapter 1449 Celebrates New Officers at Christmas Luncheon

AARP Chapter 1449 concluded its activities for 2025 with an engaging Christmas luncheon held at Mike Anderson’s in Gonzales. The event not only celebrated the holiday season but also marked the installation of new officers for the chapter, reinforcing its commitment to community involvement and informative programming.

The luncheon featured a warm welcome, including a song and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an invocation. Alfred Mason, the State Volunteer President, officiated the ceremony, where he installed the newly elected officers. Betty Wells assumed the role of President, with Betty Clark as Vice President. Dorothy Claiborne took on the responsibilities of Secretary, and Gwen Washington was appointed Treasurer. Each officer took an oath of office, signifying their commitment to serve the community.

Following the meal, the program continued with a festive tribute to Christmas. Attendees enjoyed seasonal songs, fostering a joyful atmosphere, and participated in Bible trivia and bingo, which added a fun and engaging element to the gathering.

The event not only highlighted the importance of leadership within the chapter but also served as a reminder of the role AARP plays in enhancing community connections. As 2025 comes to a close, Chapter 1449 looks forward to continuing its mission of supporting members and promoting active engagement in the community.
