Prescott’s 15th Annual Boot Drop Draws 20,000 for New Year’s Eve

UPDATE: Thousands flocked to Whiskey Row in Prescott, Arizona, on New Year’s Eve for the vibrant 15th Annual Boot Drop, a unique celebration that has captivated attendees with its western flair. The event featured a spectacular 6-foot-tall illuminated cowboy boot that descended from the historic Palace Restaurant, marking the transition into 2026 with both a 10 p.m. and a midnight drop.

This year, over 20,000 revelers attended, a remarkable growth from the initial turnout of about 2,000 at its debut. Organizers emphasize that this is the only boot drop of its kind worldwide, making it a must-see attraction for locals and tourists alike. “This is the only boot drop worldwide, as far as we know,” stated Matt Brassard of M&M Entertainment & Productions.

The celebration included live music, festive fireworks, and rides, transforming the event into a major economic boon for Prescott. “Now it’s hard to even find a room if you don’t look in advance,” Brassard added, highlighting the event’s growing significance for the community.

The Boot Drop pays homage to Prescott’s rich heritage, being the home of the world’s oldest rodeo. This western-themed spectacle has turned into a signature Arizona destination for New Year’s celebrations, drawing families and friends eager to participate in this one-of-a-kind experience.

The anticipation built throughout the night as attendees counted down to both drops, creating an atmosphere of excitement and joy. As Prescott prepares to welcome the new year, the Boot Drop stands as a shining symbol of community spirit and festive celebration, inviting everyone to partake in the magic.

With this event now firmly established on the New Year’s calendar, the community looks forward to the next gathering, continuing a tradition that has brought joy and togetherness for over a decade.
