UPDATE: The newly opened Garland Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is experiencing a surge in visitors just days after its grand opening. Since launching on Monday, January 1, 2024, the office has attracted residents from all over Sampson County and beyond, offering much-needed convenience for ID services.
Residents like Sreeja Kandukuri from Cary found the Garland DMV while searching online for locations with shorter wait times. “It was very nice to find this place,” she noted, appreciating the quick service. Her father, Janardhan Kandukuri, echoed her sentiments, highlighting the ease of access compared to other more crowded DMVs.
Local resident Brian Short, originally from New Jersey, expressed relief at having a DMV in town. “I was in need of an ID and it was much easier,” he stated. For those without a license, the new office eliminates the hassle of traveling to Clinton, marking a significant improvement for community access to essential services.
Business owner Carolyn Parker, who visited to obtain her Real ID for travel, shared her excitement about the new facility. “We don’t have to go to Clinton or Elizabethtown; it’s right here in our hometown,” she said, looking forward to the convenience it brings.
The Garland DMV is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closed on New Year’s Day. This development is not just about convenience; it represents a growth opportunity for the local economy and community cohesion.
Residents are urged to visit the NCDOT website for additional information and services. As traffic continues to rise at the Garland DMV, it’s evident that this new establishment is already making a positive impact on the community, as citizens embrace the benefits of local access to DMV services.
