Urgent: Tuesday Musical Opens 2026 Scholarship Applications Now

UPDATE: The 2026 scholarship applications from Tuesday Musical are now open! Residents of Ohio and students studying with Ohio music teachers have until February 1, 2026, to apply for a share of $41,550 in scholarships. This year’s competition marks a significant milestone as it celebrates the 70th anniversary of supporting aspiring music educators and performers.

The competition offers 29 scholarships, ranging from $750 to $2,000, specifically for music performance and education majors. Categories include music education, brass, classical guitar, organ, piano, percussion, strings, voice, and woodwinds.

Noteworthy changes this year include an expanded repertoire requirement in the percussion category, which now includes more than just marimba and steel pan. Additionally, the second-place organ scholarship, newly introduced last year, has been increased to $1,500, underscoring the commitment to enhancing opportunities for talented students.

Mark your calendars! The adjudicated competition is set for March 21, 2026, at the University of Akron, with organists competing at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Akron. First- and second-place winners will advance to the final round and winners concert on May 3, 2026, where they can compete for two additional scholarships and a coveted people’s-choice award.
