Patients Praise 25 Top GP Surgeries in Lancashire for Care Quality

This information comes from the latest GP Patient Survey, conducted by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England. The 2025 survey, which took place between January and March 2023, saw participation from more than 700,000 patients across England.

Overall, the results indicate that a significant majority of patients feel satisfied with their care. Nationwide, 57% of respondents reported that their needs had “definitely” been met, while another 33% indicated that their needs were met “to some extent.”

Top Performing Surgeries in Lancashire

In Lancashire, several GP surgeries have distinguished themselves by achieving high satisfaction rates among patients. The ranking of these practices is based on the proportion of patients who reported that their needs were “definitely” met during their last appointment.

At the forefront is Slaidburn Health Centre in Clitheroe, which sent out 228 survey forms, achieving a response rate of 42%. An impressive 98% of respondents stated their needs were “definitely” met, while only 2% felt their needs were met “to some extent.”

Following closely is New Longton Surgery in Preston. This practice distributed 256 forms, resulting in a response rate of 47%. Here, 85% of patients affirmed that their needs were “definitely” met, and 11% reported partial satisfaction.

Another notable surgery is Withnell Health Centre in Chorley, which sent out 247 survey forms with a response rate of 38%. A substantial 80% of patients indicated that their needs were “definitely” met, while 19% said they were met “to some extent.”

The Village Surgeries, serving Croston and Eccleston, also received commendations. They distributed 369 surveys and achieved a response rate of 33%. Here, 77% of patients reported that their needs were “definitely” met, with 21% stating they were met “to some extent.”
