St. Thomas Men’s Hockey Wins in OT Against Bowling Green, 3-2

UPDATE: In a thrilling overtime finish, the No. 15 St. Thomas men’s hockey team triumphed over Bowling Green with a score of 3-2 on February 3, 2023, solidifying their place at the top of the CCHA standings. This victory marks the Tommies’ 12th win in their last 13 games, boosting their overall record to 18-8-3 and 15-4-2 in conference play.

Nick Williams delivered the game-winning goal midway through overtime, sending the visiting Tommies into a frenzy after a hard-fought battle. The Tommies found themselves trailing twice during the match, demonstrating resilience and determination that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

The game began with Nathan Pilling scoring the first goal for St. Thomas on a power play at 18:33 in the opening period, evening the score at 1-1 and ensuring a competitive first intermission. Just 54 seconds into the second period, Bowling Green regained the lead at 2-1. However, Pilling struck again less than 12 minutes later, netting his second power-play goal to tie the game once more at 2-2.
