Yutan’s Jordyn Campbell Makes History with 200th Win

BREAKING: In a historic achievement, Jordyn Campbell, a senior wrestler from Yutan, Nebraska, has become the first girl in the state to reach 200 career wins. This milestone was accomplished at the Cedar Bluffs Invite in late January, marking a significant moment in Nebraska wrestling history since the NSAA sanctioned girls’ wrestling in May 2021.

Campbell not only reached this remarkable milestone but also set a new state record for career pins, logging her 177th career pin during the same tournament. Reflecting on her journey, Campbell stated, “When I was eight years old and getting my butt kicked every match, I never thought that I would be where I’m at today.” The emotional weight of her accomplishment hit her hard when the announcer declared both records, leading her to feel immense pride: “I think that’s when it hit me, like, ‘Wow,’ like, ‘I really did that.’”

Her coach, Dan Krajicek, praised her consistent effort and dedication, commenting, “It’s just a culmination of moment after moment. She has the right mentality for achieving a lot.” He emphasized Campbell’s fundamental wrestling style, saying, “She can run anything, but she just goes down, takes girls down and then pins them.”

With these achievements, Campbell is on track to potentially three-peat as a state champion this season. “It was just super surreal to feel that and hear that,” she expressed. The excitement builds as the girls state tournament is set to kick off on February 17, 2026, at the CHI Health Center in Omaha. Earlier on February 7, Campbell won a district championship at 135 pounds in the B-1 meet at Plainview.

This groundbreaking success not only shines a spotlight on Campbell but also elevates the visibility of girls’ wrestling in Nebraska, inspiring young athletes across the state. As the tournament approaches, all eyes will be on Campbell as she aims to add more accolades to her already impressive resume.
