Arlington Police Arrest 25-Year-Old in 2021 Murder of Kier Solomon
UPDATE: In a significant breakthrough, Arlington Police have arrested 25-year-old Arthur Morris Jr. in connection with the 2021 murder of transgender woman Kier Solomon. This development follows a relentless four-year investigation that aimed to bring justice to Solomon, who was tragically killed on September 30, 2021.
Authorities confirmed that Morris was already incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for an unrelated offense when he was charged with one count of murder. Detectives identified Morris as a suspect due to a chilling pattern of behavior linked to Solomon’s death, including luring victims through mobile apps to meet at specific locations.
On the night of the murder, officers found Solomon shot in her car at a North Arlington apartment complex. Despite immediate medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Investigators revealed that Solomon’s phone records indicated she had been enticed to the location under false pretenses, a tactic that matched with previous reports from another victim who experienced robbery and aggravated assault in a similar manner just weeks prior.
Detectives utilized phone and email communications to establish Morris’s presence at the crime scene “before, during, and after the murder.” This evidence, uncovered by September 2025, was pivotal in securing his indictment. Arlington Police Chief Al Jones expressed pride in his team’s dedication, stating,
“What never changes, though, is our commitment to delivering justice for victims of crime and exhausting every possible lead to achieve that goal.”
Currently, Morris is being held at a facility in Childress, Texas, and is awaiting transfer to Tarrant County for his arraignment. The community, still healing from Solomon’s violent death, anxiously watches as the wheels of justice turn slowly but surely.
This case underscores the determination of law enforcement to pursue justice for all victims, especially those from marginalized communities. The Arlington Police Department continues to urge anyone with additional information regarding the case to come forward, emphasizing their commitment to a thorough investigation.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as authorities work to ensure justice for Kier Solomon and her loved ones.
