Authorities recover 15 stolen guns, $25K+ property after burglary arrest in Alaska

Anchor Point Burglary Arrest Leads to Recovery of 15 Stolen Guns and Property Worth Over $25,000

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A woman’s arrest during a home burglary investigation on April 26 has cracked open a major stolen property ring in Anchor Point, Alaska, with law enforcement recovering 15 stolen firearms and miscellaneous property valued at more than $25,000, according to Alaska State Troopers.

During a response to a suspicious person call at a residence on Kutafya Road, troopers found Cerina P. Richards, 29, hiding beneath household items. She was charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft after investigators confirmed she entered the home without permission.

Richards told troopers she was dropped off by a man who claimed the house belonged to his uncle and that she was asked to clean the home. This individual has emerged as a key figure in the wider investigation but has not yet been charged, according to court documents.

Raid Reveals Stolen Arsenal and Property Days Later

A follow-up search on May 4 at a North Fork Road residence recovered 15 guns — including pistols, rifles, and shotguns — alongside collectible coins, a commercial-grade toolbox, and fishing gear. These items were linked to the same burglary case and matched victim descriptions, including property connected to the victim’s deceased husband.

Wade L. Wunderlich, 23, was arrested at the North Fork Road location and charged with first-degree theft and 15 counts of second-degree theft related to firearms. Court records reveal Wunderlich admitted suspicion that the items were stolen but claimed two firearms were promised to him if “everything worked out.”

Alaska State Troopers confirmed Wunderlich reported threats after Richards’ arrest, indicating ongoing tensions linked to the stolen property network. The investigation continues, with additional charges expected as troopers piece together the full scope of the theft.

Property Valued Over $25,000 Highlights Growing Crime Concerns

This case underscores a wider concern for stolen firearms circulation in communities nationwide, including Nevada, where gun safety and theft prevention remain critical public safety issues.

The recovery of these stolen guns and valuables within days of the initial arrest signals effective law enforcement cooperation and rapid investigative work by the Alaska State Troopers and local police partners.

“This recovery not only deprives criminals of stolen weaponry but also helps restore stolen belongings to rightful owners,”

a trooper affidavit stated, emphasizing the significance of the breakthrough.

What Comes Next

Both Richards and Wunderlich face serious felony charges as the stolen property network unravels. Law enforcement warns that the same unnamed man implicated in both defendants’ statements could still be subject to investigation.

Anchorage-area residents and firearm owners are reminded to report suspicious activity and secure valuables to prevent similar crimes. The case remains an active investigation as authorities work to dismantle organized theft rings affecting communities across the U.S.
