Rochester Grizzlies Plunge to Third Straight Loss Against Power
URGENT UPDATE: The Rochester Grizzlies have suffered their third consecutive loss, falling to the West Bend Power 3-1 in a gripping North American 3 Hockey League matchup at the Rochester Recreation Center earlier today. Despite dominating possession and shots, the Grizzlies couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities, leading to a disappointing outcome.
In a game marked by defensive prowess, it was West Bend’s Armani Fisher who delivered a stunning assist to Elias Holan, giving the Power the lead just before the first intermission. This marked the third straight game Rochester conceded the first goal, a trend that has become increasingly concerning for head coach Marty Raymond and his squad.
The second period saw the Power gain momentum, with Holan and Adam Sexton netting highlight-reel goals that solidified West Bend’s grip on the game. Though the Grizzlies managed to score through Andrew Bastian late in the first with a power-play goal, it proved insufficient as they struggled offensively throughout the game.
Rochester’s power-play unit, which had previously excelled by going 3-for-6 in their last game, faltered significantly, converting only 1-for-8 against a formidable West Bend defense. Much of this can be attributed to the stellar performance of Power goaltender Peter Burke, who made an impressive 40 saves to secure West Bend’s ninth victory of the season.
With this loss, the Grizzlies’ record drops to 5-4-0, while West Bend inches closer to claiming the top spot in the Central Division. The teams are set to clash again next Friday, October 24, at 7 p.m. in Rochester, where the Grizzlies will seek redemption and an opportunity to break their losing streak.
Fans are urged to stay tuned for the upcoming rematch, as the Grizzlies aim to turn their fortunes around and reclaim their competitive edge in the league. The pressure is on for Rochester to respond decisively in their next game.
