Port Wentworth Celebrates $30M Ice Complex Milestone Today
UPDATE: Port Wentworth is celebrating a pivotal moment today as the Ghost Pirates’ new practice facility and entertainment complex reaches a significant milestone. The final beam is being raised at the Ghost Pirates Ice Cove, marking a key development in the city’s largest investment to date, valued at $30 million.
This afternoon, city leaders, project developers, and Ghost Pirates players will gather at Anchor Park to commemorate the construction milestone. The event showcases the completion of a crucial phase in the Ice Cove project, which is on track to transform the area into a vibrant entertainment hub.
Once completed, the 90,000-square-foot Ice Cove will feature a state-of-the-art ice rink, multiple restaurants, and additional amenities. Adjacent to the Ice Cove, the new Port Wentworth Amphitheater will host concerts, sporting events, and community festivals, significantly boosting visitor attraction to the expanding locale.
Located at the corner of Meinhard Road and Monteith Road, officials anticipate that construction will conclude by summer 2026, with an official opening slated for fall. This ambitious project is seen as a cornerstone in the city’s vision to develop Anchor Park into a premier destination for both residents and tourists alike.
The Ghost Pirates are set to establish their new home base within this complex, enhancing the local sports culture and community engagement. City officials are optimistic that this development is just the beginning, paving the way for future enhancements and growth in Port Wentworth.
As the community comes together to celebrate this significant construction achievement, the excitement surrounding the Ghost Pirates Ice Cove continues to build. This investment not only promises to elevate local recreation but also fosters a sense of pride and unity among residents.
Stay tuned for further updates as this project progresses and as Port Wentworth continues to evolve into a dynamic destination.
