Ironton Celebrates New Community Dog Park Opening on Saturday
The City of Ironton is set to unveil its new community dog park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2025. This event will take place at 712 S. Third St., located near the base of the Ironton-Russell Bridge. Residents and their dogs are encouraged to participate in the festivities that mark this significant addition to the community.
Sam Cramblit, the Mayor of Ironton, expressed enthusiasm for the new facility, stating, “The new dog park is more than just a recreational space, it’s a gathering place that celebrates community.” Cramblit highlighted the importance of creating a dedicated area for both residents and their pets, emphasizing the project’s significance in enhancing the quality of life in Ironton.
The dog park represents a substantial investment aimed at providing a safe and welcoming environment for dogs to play, exercise, and socialize. The initiative is the result of a collaborative effort involving the city and multiple local partners who contributed invaluable resources and expertise.
In particular, the city acknowledged the support from various organizations that played a crucial role in bringing the dog park to fruition, including ODOT, Newman’s Fencing, Nolan Electric, State Electric, and Glockner’s. Their contributions have been instrumental in transforming the vision of a community dog park into reality.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be an engaging event, featuring participation from several local pet-related businesses. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet vendors, learn about local pet services, and enjoy a morning filled with activities for both dogs and their owners.
For additional information about the event, residents can contact the mayor’s office at (740) 532-3833. The opening of this dog park is anticipated to not only enhance recreational options for pet owners but also strengthen community ties within Ironton.
