Halloween Haunts & Happenings Set to Enchant Jonesborough
Historic Downtown Jonesborough will come alive with Halloween festivities on October 31, 2023. The Main Street Halloween Haunts & Happenings event is scheduled from 17:30 to 20:00, offering local families an evening filled with trick-or-treating, games, and seasonal displays. According to a press release from the town, participants can visit various local businesses for treats and enjoy a range of entertainment throughout the evening.
At Jimmy Neil Smith Park, located behind the International Storytelling Center, attendees can experience Haunted Laser Tag, with thrilling missions organized by Paradise Acres. The Christopher Taylor Cabin will host the Sanderson Sisters from the film Hocus Pocus, presented by the Enchanted Experience from the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre. Additionally, DJ Love will provide music in front of the courthouse, inviting attendees to dance and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
A highlight of the evening will be the Food City of Jonesborough Costume Contest, which begins at 19:00. Participants can compete in various age and group categories for a chance to win prizes. For younger attendees, the International Storytelling Center will offer free face painting, while the McKinney Center will host a Halloween craft activity.
As part of the festivities, visitors can admire spooky artwork at the McKinney Center, where the Halloween Haunts & Happenings Art Exhibit will be on display until November 1. Adding to the festive spirit, carved pumpkins from the Great Jonesborough Pumpkin Party will line Main Street from October 29 through October 31, enhancing the charm of the historic district.
