Eagle County School District IT Team Wins Global Awards for Excellence
UPDATE: Eagle County School District’s Information Technology Department has just been named a 2025 Global Winner of the prestigious ONCON ICON Top 100 Award in two categories: Technology Team and Information Security. Winners were revealed on Tuesday, October 21, during the annual ONCON ICON Awards ceremony, an event that highlights the most impactful leaders and teams in business and technology.
This recognition comes at an important time, showcasing the district’s commitment to excellence amid rapid digital transformation in education. The ONCON ICON Awards are known globally, celebrating professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and innovation across various industries. Being recognized as a Global Top 100 Winner places Eagle County School District among the elite in the field.
“This recognition is a tremendous honor,” said Phil Qualman, Superintendent of Eagle County School District. “It reflects the hard work, collaboration, and innovation that define our IT team.” Qualman emphasized the significance of this award in showcasing the district’s dedication to providing secure and transformative technology that enhances education and student success across Eagle County.
Earlier this year, Jack Donnelly, the district’s Chief Technology Officer, was also a finalist for the Colorado ORBIE Award for CIO of the Year, further solidifying the district’s position among top technology leaders in Colorado. This accolade underscores the district’s ongoing efforts in driving digital transformation and cybersecurity excellence.
In addition to the ONCON ICON Awards, Eagle County School District recently earned recognition from Lenovo with the Elite Servicer Award for outstanding performance in the Device Self-Maintainer Program. This award is reserved for organizations that excel in service quality and technical skill in maintaining Lenovo devices, including Chromebooks.
The Lenovo Self-Maintainer Program allows certified IT teams to conduct in-house warranty repairs, significantly reducing turnaround times for device maintenance. The Eagle County School District has achieved a remarkable reduction in repair turnaround from 45 days to less than 4, ensuring that devices are quickly returned to students and staff.
“Our User Support Team’s dedication to fast, high-quality device repair has a direct impact on teaching and learning,” Donnelly stated. “Receiving Lenovo’s Elite Servicer Award highlights how our team’s skill translates into real benefits for students and staff every single day.”
The accolades not only validate the district’s efforts in technology management but also demonstrate a commitment to enhancing educational experiences. The recognition in Boss Magazine further showcases Eagle County’s innovative approach to digital transformation, cybersecurity, and equitable access to technology.
As educational institutions increasingly rely on technology, the spotlight on Eagle County School District serves as an inspiring example of how dedicated teams can lead in creating a secure and efficient technological environment for learning.
With these awards and recognitions, the Eagle County School District is setting a benchmark for IT excellence in education, proving that innovation and dedication can significantly enhance the learning experience. Stakeholders are encouraged to watch for further developments as the district continues to pave the way in educational technology.
