On October 22, 2025, the Business and Industry Association celebrated its 112th annual Dinner and Awards Celebration at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Manchester, New Hampshire. The event, sponsored by Eversource, honored notable figures with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement and New Hampshire Advantage awards.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Jeanne Shaheen, retiring United States Senator; Tim Sink, outgoing president and CEO of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce; and Alexander Walker, former president and CEO of Catholic Medical Center. The New Hampshire Advantage Award was awarded to Swim With A Mission, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans.

Recognizing Outstanding Contributions

The Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledges business leaders who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their professions and communities in New Hampshire. Awardees have significantly shaped their surroundings through successful business practices, active participation in civic organizations, and dedicated service to local and state government.

Jeanne Shaheen has made history as the first woman in the United States to be elected both governor and U.S. senator. Throughout her more than three decades in office, she has tirelessly advocated for New Hampshire, focusing on economic growth, affordable healthcare, veterans’ support, and environmental protection.

Tim Sink, known for his extensive contributions to the local business landscape, has played a pivotal role in enhancing economic growth in Concord and the Capital Region. His tenure as the longest-serving chamber executive in New Hampshire has solidified his reputation as a mentor and leader among his peers.

Alexander Walker has left a profound impact on various sectors, including business, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations. His leadership at Catholic Medical Center and previous role at Devine Millimet, a prominent law firm, showcases his extensive capabilities. Beyond his professional achievements, Walker has actively participated on numerous civic and educational boards, including Granite United Way and the Palace Theatre.

Celebrating Community Impact

The New Hampshire Advantage Award recognizes businesses, organizations, or initiatives that contribute positively to the state’s character and quality of life. Swim With A Mission, founded in 2017, exemplifies this commitment by honoring veterans and their families. Under the stewardship of founders Phil and Julie Taub, the organization has raised millions through community-driven events like its annual open-water swim on Newfound Lake and Navy SEAL demonstrations.

The funds generated directly support veteran service organizations that provide essential resources, including housing, healthcare, service dogs, job training, and mental health support. This commitment to serving those who have served the nation underscores the spirit of community engagement celebrated at the awards gala.

The event attracted nearly 700 influential leaders from New Hampshire’s business, political, and opinion spheres, making it the state’s largest business networking occasion. The recognition of these distinguished individuals and organizations highlights the vital role they play in shaping New Hampshire’s economic landscape and enhancing community well-being.
