Community Gathers Essential Supplies for Homeless Care Packages

Residents and community organizations in the Front Royal area have initiated a drive to collect essential items for homeless care packages. These packages will be distributed to local shelters, including those in Front Royal, Welltown Watts, and the Salvation Army. The initiative aims to provide vital support to those in need during the colder months.

The items requested for donation include self-care travel items, band-aids, chapsticks, foot and hand warmers, tissues, hand wipes, blankets, and various types of bags such as suitcases with handles or wheels and duffel bags. Additional items such as ponchos, jackets, hats, scarves, socks, and gloves are also in high demand.

Ashley, the community coordinator, is spearheading this effort and encourages residents to contribute to the cause. “Every little bit helps,” she remarked, emphasizing the importance of providing comfort and support to those experiencing homelessness. The collection drive seeks to ensure that vulnerable individuals are equipped with necessary supplies to face the harsh weather conditions.

To make a donation or for more information, interested individuals can contact Ashley at 540-771-8067. Contributions can make a significant impact, and community involvement is crucial in addressing the needs of the homeless population in the area.

By coming together, the community not only provides material support but also fosters a sense of compassion and solidarity towards those facing hardships. This initiative highlights the power of collective action in striving for a more equitable society.
