On October 24, 2023, volunteers from The Vernon Company collaborated with the Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity to construct a new home in Newton, Iowa. The team dedicated their efforts to installing roof trusses and fascia boards, significantly contributing to the project with a total of 62 hours of volunteer work.
Eighteen individuals from The Vernon Company participated, splitting their time across two shifts. Among the volunteers was Chris Vernon, President and CEO of the company. He expressed his gratitude to the volunteers, stating, “A big thank you to our 18 Vernon volunteers who spent Friday lending a hand to the new Newton Habitat home. The future homeowner was truly touched by everyone’s effort to help make her dream home a reality. It was a fun, rewarding day.”
