Left-Side Hitters Dominate 2025 MAAA Volleyball All-Conference Teams

UPDATE: The 2025 MAAA volleyball all-conference teams have just been announced, showcasing a remarkable dominance of left-side hitters across the league. This season, out of 24 players selected, an astounding 11 are primarily left-side hitters, reflecting a significant shift in the competitive landscape of the conference.

Game highlights unfolded on October 30, 2025, in Jackson, Missouri, where Potosi’s junior star, Macyn McCarthy, led her team to impressive heights. Potosi, alongside Valle Catholic, both secured four all-conference selections, tying with Bismarck and Farmington for the lead. The Lady Trojans claimed their first MAAA tournament title since 1993 and continue to shine with standout performances.

Eden Robart of Potosi emerged as the top attacker in the conference, complemented by Eve Litton, who filled the other left-side role for the team. This dynamic duo has been pivotal in Potosi’s success, supported by McCarthy, who is the only all-conference libero this year, surpassing 1,000 career digs earlier this month.

Farmington’s explosive lineup featured senior Brenna Botkin and junior Kylie Woods, both recognized for their offensive prowess. Lila Roth contributed significantly with her setting skills, while Ella Pierce made the all-conference list as a right-side hitter. Ste. Genevieve’s Emma Gegg also stood out with over 1,000 varsity digs, showcasing her all-around talent.

Valle Catholic, which triumphed in a competitive state sectional against Arcadia Valley, saw junior Lexie Rayoum become their top attacker. The team has not lost in regular-season Small School conference play since 2018. Meanwhile, Bismarck celebrated their historic 39-3 season after winning their first state championship, demonstrating resilience by overcoming two match points against Leopold and dethroning the reigning champion Winona.

The all-conference selections highlight not only individual talent but also the collective success of these teams within the MAAA league. Bismarck’s seniors, including Ashley Hawkins and Kinsey Hubbs, have built a strong foundation since their freshman year, with Hawkins achieving an impressive 1,587 kills and 1,315 digs throughout her high school career.

Among the notable selections was Arcadia Valley’s Hattie Vinyard, who shone in the middle, and Annabelle Adams, who hit the milestone of 1,000 career assists as a sophomore setter. This season has marked a significant improvement for Arcadia Valley, with the team showcasing depth and resilience despite challenges.

As the volleyball season progresses, all eyes will be on these talented athletes as they continue to compete fiercely. Expect more thrilling matches and potential upsets as the playoffs approach. Fans are encouraged to stay updated with the latest developments and cheer on their favorite teams as they strive for glory in the upcoming postseason.
