UPDATE: Austin Animal Services, in partnership with Greater Good Charities, has just launched a crucial free spay/neuter clinic for pets in Austin and Travis County, running from November 13 through November 17, 2025. This initiative is designed to address the financial burden many pet owners face, offering not only spay and neuter services but also free vaccinations, microchips, and flea/tick prevention treatments.
“This clinic is vital for ensuring every pet owner—regardless of income or neighborhood—has access to essential services that keep pets healthy and communities safe,” stated Rolando Fernandez, Interim Director of Animal Services.
This clinic, the sixth in a series launched over the past year, aims to combat the ongoing crisis of animal overpopulation, which contributes to the rise of stray and homeless pets. To date, these clinics have successfully provided surgeries to over 5,000 pets, and this event is set to benefit another 1,200 animals.
Pet owners are encouraged to arrive early at the clinic located at 11580 Stonehollow Dr., Suite 160, Austin, TX 78758. Services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with registration beginning at 6:00 am and concluding at 10:00 am daily, or until capacity is reached.
This initiative is not just about providing free services; it represents a broader commitment to responsible pet ownership and community safety. The team behind this clinic is preparing for another event in early 2026, aiming to further enhance the wellbeing of pets and owners alike.
As the clinic draws crowds, logistical challenges may arise, but the emphasis remains on uplifting the lives of pets and their owners. This community-focused effort underscores Austin’s dedication to ensuring that every animal has access to quality care, reinforcing the city’s progressive values that extend beyond human concerns.
