Chevy Announces New U.S.-Made Vehicles Ahead of 2027 Model Year

BREAKING NEWS: Chevrolet has just announced that it will expand its lineup of U.S.-made vehicles, with new models set to roll out ahead of the 2027 model year. This decision is a significant boost for American manufacturing and will further cement Chevrolet’s commitment to producing vehicles in the United States.

The Chevrolet Silverado continues to lead the charge, remaining one of the top-selling trucks in America, trailing only the Ford F-Series. All Silverado models, including the 1500, 2500, 3500, and the upcoming Silverado EV, are built in the U.S., although some are also assembled in Mexico and Canada. Consumers can verify the origin of their specific vehicle by checking the window sticker.

Chevrolet’s popular full-size SUVs—the Suburban and Tahoe—are also proudly made in the U.S., alongside the Traverse and the Express commercial van. The iconic Corvette, America’s supercar, is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky, which has become a pilgrimage site for car enthusiasts.

In an exciting move, Chevrolet is set to introduce at least two new American-made vehicles for the 2027 model year. The highly anticipated Chevrolet Bolt EV, touted as the most affordable electric vehicle on the market, is now in production at a GM plant in Kansas City. The new gas-powered Chevrolet Blazer is also expected to launch from Tennessee in the same year.

UPDATE: Chevrolet’s Silverado models are produced across various U.S. locations, including GM’s Fort Wayne Assembly in Indiana and Flint Assembly in Michigan. Recent reports indicate that tariffs may prompt Chevrolet to shift some production back to the United States from Oshawa, Ontario.

All three of Chevrolet’s full-size SUVs—the Tahoe, Suburban, and Traverse—are manufactured in Arlington, Texas. The Tahoe and Suburban share a platform, offering spacious interiors and significant cargo capacity. The Traverse, produced in Lansing, Michigan, features a more crossover-like design, providing a smoother ride but less towing capacity than its larger counterparts.

Additionally, the Chevrolet Colorado midsize truck and the Chevrolet Express are both built at the Wentzville Assembly Center in Missouri. The Colorado, which has won multiple awards since its debut, is set to continue its legacy with a redesigned model launching in 2024.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV aims to drive demand for electric vehicles, especially as EV sales have recently dipped. With a starting price of just $28,995, including destination fees, the Bolt offers features like Super Cruise hands-free driving and an updated infotainment system with Apple Music.

As Chevrolet ramps up production and introduces new models, the future of American automotive manufacturing looks promising. Keep an eye on the upcoming releases and developments as Chevrolet continues to innovate and drive forward.
