Urgent: Officer Injured in San Ramon Police Chase; 2 Arrested

URGENT UPDATE: A police officer was injured and two suspects arrested late last night in a dramatic chase in San Ramon, California, as authorities continue to search for two additional suspects involved in a series of vehicle thefts. The incident transpired after police received intelligence that the suspects were returning to the area where a stolen vehicle had been abandoned.

Witnesses reported chaos on the streets of Kyler Court when the suspects, believed to be linked to multiple auto burglaries, rammed into four police vehicles during their escape. “I heard the sirens and then a big crash. This fire hydrant was blasting in the air,” said local resident Adam Bieneman, who witnessed the incident unfold.

According to Lt. Leysy Pelayo of the San Ramon Police Department, the suspects fled in a stolen vehicle, colliding with police cars and causing significant damage. “The car hit the driver’s door and pinned the officer’s leg momentarily between the door and the frame,” Pelayo explained.

The injured officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while the two arrested suspects face serious charges, including hit and run related to the officer’s injury, possession of stolen property, and vehicle burglary. Police are actively pursuing the remaining two suspects.

As police ramp up their efforts to capture the remaining suspects, residents are left shaken by the events. “It’s alarming to see something like this in our neighborhood,” Bieneman added. Authorities confirmed they are being proactive to ensure the safety of the community and apprehend all individuals involved.
