Fetty Wap Begins Home Confinement with Strict Conditions Ahead

Fetty Wap has transitioned from prison to home confinement, where he will face stringent release conditions following his federal drug trafficking conviction. According to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), the rapper was transferred on January 7, 2026, from the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Sandstone in Minnesota to community confinement. This period of confinement will conclude on November 8, 2026, after which he will need to adhere to a five-year supervision program.

During his home confinement, the artist must comply with several regulations. He is required to undergo regular drug testing and is prohibited from opening any new bank accounts without prior approval from federal authorities. Additionally, Fetty Wap must report his earnings and tax records to the U.S. Probation Department. The consumption of alcohol or other intoxicants is strictly forbidden unless a licensed physician prescribes them. There is also the possibility that the court may mandate his participation in an outpatient drug treatment program, which would include testing to ensure compliance.

Fetty Wap, 34, was released from the low-security facility in Minnesota on January 8, 2026, with reports emerging shortly thereafter. Loren LoRosa from The Breakfast Club shared a statement from the rapper, highlighting his intention to focus on community initiatives. He expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and fans for their support, saying, “It truly means everything to me. Right now, my focus is on giving back through my community initiatives and foundation, supporting at-risk young children by expanding access to education, early tech skills, and vision care for young kids and students so they can show up as their best selves.”

Fetty Wap’s journey to this point began with a six-year prison sentence stemming from a federal drug trafficking charge in 2023. Initially, he was slated for release on December 8, 2026, but his release date was advanced, culminating in his current status. As he navigates the challenges of reintegration into society, his commitment to making a positive impact through his foundation stands as a central focus in his life post-incarceration.
