Dignity Health North State’s Holiday Initiatives Support 72 Seniors

Dignity Health North State announced that its holiday community service initiatives, particularly through the St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff, successfully supported 72 local seniors during the festive season. The hospital’s “Adopt a Senior” program aims to provide gifts to seniors in need who might not otherwise receive any holiday cheer.

In addition to the senior support program, the hospital’s emergency department participated in the California Highway Patrol’s “Chips for Kids” toy drive, collecting toys for children in Tehama County. The hospital also gathered donations for the Corning School District to assist at-risk and homeless children and teenagers.

The commitment to community welfare extended further when the hospital’s quality team “adopted” a single mother and her five children, providing them with $800 in gift cards, new clothes, and toys. These efforts come at a time when funding for supplemental nutrition assistance programs has been frozen, underscoring the importance of community outreach.

According to Dignity Health’s Connected Living program in Redding, food assistance was provided to approximately 800 individuals in December alone, highlighting the ongoing need for support within the community.

Rodger Page, North State Market President for Dignity Health, emphasized the significance of local giving initiatives. “Supporting our local communities is at the heart of everything we do,” Page stated. “Our employees don’t just work here—they live here, raise their families here and embody our mission of spreading humankindness every day.” He added that the dedication shown by staff, whether in patient care or volunteering, serves as an inspiration for continued outreach efforts.

As the new year approaches, Dignity Health North State remains committed to enhancing its support programs and addressing the needs of the communities it serves. The organization’s initiatives not only bring joy during the holiday season but also reflect a broader commitment to improving lives year-round.
