Indivisible 605 and Remedy Brewing Launch Urgent Clothing Drive

Indivisible 605 and Remedy Brewing have launched a crucial clothing drive focused on collecting undergarments and socks for those in need in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The initiative began on February 11, 2026, and will continue until February 22, 2026. With winter approaching, the organizers aim to address a significant gap in donations, particularly for items that are often overlooked.

Addressing a Critical Need

As temperatures drop, many clothing drives prioritize outerwear such as coats, hats, and gloves. However, according to local organizer Andrew Cedergren, the need for undergarments is equally important. “Underwear and socks are the least donated items, so when you are looking to make a big impact, focusing on those items specifically is a good idea to make up that shortfall,” he stated.

Event Coordinator Aaron Nelson from Remedy Brewing echoed Cedergren’s sentiments, noting that “a lot of people don’t really think about that. Many focus on hats, jackets, and t-shirts, but people often forget about undergarments.” This clothing drive aims to raise awareness about this essential need.

Community Involvement and Future Goals

The donation bin for the drive is located at the back of Remedy Brewing. Since the drive began, organizers have already filled one bin and more donations are being sent to the St. Francis House, a local shelter. “If we can empty it about three more times before the end date, that would be absolutely amazing and would help a lot of individuals out,” Nelson added.

Cedergren emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “Whether you’re donating food, money, time, or clothing, it’s just being a part of society, and nowadays it’s more important than ever.” Both Indivisible 605 and Remedy Brewing encourage community members to contribute whatever they can to support this initiative.

To further engage the community, Remedy Brewing will host its Brunch Fest on February 22, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear onesies, creating a fun atmosphere for those wishing to donate socks and underwear while enjoying breakfast.

The collaboration between Indivisible 605 and Remedy Brewing highlights the importance of addressing less visible needs within the community. As the drive continues, both organizations remain hopeful for strong participation from local residents, ensuring that everyone has access to essential clothing items during the cold months ahead.
