Riverhawks Dominate Loggers 17-2 in Five-Inning Rout to End Season
The Toledo Riverhawks rebounded with a resounding victory over the Onalaska Loggers, crushing them 17-2 in just five innings on Thursday to close out the regular season with momentum.
The Riverhawks erupted immediately, unloading an eight-run first inning that set the tone for a blowout win. Toledo followed up with five runs in the second inning, then added two runs each in the third and fourth, leaving no doubt who controlled the game.
Standout Performances Propel Toledo’s Win
Kailea Lairson led the offensive barrage, racking up three hits and driving in four runs. Close behind was Taysia Miller, who contributed two hits and three RBIs. Impressively, eight other Riverhawks reached base with hits, while five different players drove in runs.
On the mound, Peyton Holter dominated early, pitching the first three innings without surrendering a hit, while striking out six and issuing just two walks. In relief, Brenna Carver threw two innings, allowing two hits and two unearned runs, closing out the game for the Riverhawks.
Loggers Show Fight but Fall Short
The Loggers struggled to counter Toledo’s relentless offense. Jaelyn Auman and Renzy Marshall each managed to get a hit and record an RBI, but it was not enough to keep pace.
District Tournament Seeds Set as Both Teams Prepare
With the season’s close, the Loggers (9-9) have secured the C2BL’s No. 7 seed and will face Raymond/South Bend, the P2BL No. 3 seed, in an elimination game this coming Monday at Montesano.
The Riverhawks, finishing with a strong 14-5 record, earned the C2BL No. 3 seed. They will take on the winner of the C8/P5 pigtail matchup between Morton/White Pass and North Beach in their first-round district game, which will be held at Fort Borst Park in Centralia. Like the Loggers’ matchup, this game is an elimination round, heightening the stakes as postseason play begins.
What’s Next?
These upcoming elimination matchups will test both teams’ resilience and playoff readiness — the Riverhawks will look to ride their offensive momentum, while the Loggers will fight to extend their season beyond the regular schedule.
The fast-paced conclusion to the Riverhawks’ regular season sends a clear message to Nevada and national high school softball fans: Toledo is ready to push deep into postseason competition.
