$100K Reward Offered for Missing Arlington Man on Autism Spectrum

Massive $100K Reward in Search for Missing Arlington Man on Autism Spectrum

The search for Jonathan Hoang, a 22-year-old man on the Autism spectrum who vanished from his Arlington, Washington home over a year ago, has escalated as a $100,000 reward is now being offered for his safe return or reliable information on his whereabouts. Authorities and family emphasize the urgent need to solve this troubling disappearance, which has remained cold despite numerous tips and reported sightings across the region.

Jonathan, described as an introverted individual with the mental capacity of a child, disappeared mysteriously on March 30, 2025. His family reported he was last seen at home on 14th Drive Northwest, where he lived with his parents. His disappearance followed a normal evening when he said goodnight to his parents at 7:30 PM, only to be missing the next day without his shoes, coat, or phone. Curiously, his iPad — usually only taken on long trips — was missing from the house, raising concerns he may have planned to leave, though this contradicts his usual routine.

Family and Authorities Desperate for Answers

“He was very scheduled and routine-oriented,” said Irene Pfister, Jonathan’s sister. “He doesn’t leave the house without a jacket, even in hot weather, but all his jackets and shoes were left at home.” She describes Jonathan as a “sweet kid” with an honesty and innocence that touched those around him.

Jim Fuda, Executive Director of Crimestoppers of Puget Sound, detailed the puzzling circumstances: “The deck door to the backyard was left unlocked, which was unusual.” Crimestoppers initially offered a $1,000 reward shortly after the disappearance. However, a generous donation from a Florida car dealership owner boosted the total to a staggering $100,000, spurring new hope among the community.

Despite a flood of tips — including sightings reported as far as Kirkland, Washington — no verified breakthroughs have emerged. Fuda urges the public to act swiftly if they see Jonathan: “Call the police immediately, keep visual contact, and take a photo if possible.”

A Vulnerable Man Who Trusts Easily, His Family Pleads for Help

Jonathan’s family stresses his vulnerability and trusting nature. Pfister explains, “If someone told him with authority to go with them, he would comply without resistance. He’s gentle and innocent.” They implore anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward — even anonymously — to finally provide closure for Jonathan’s loved ones.

“Somebody knows who has Jonathan, or knows of his whereabouts, dead or alive. Please come forward. There is a $100,000 reward. Let’s get closure for the family,” said Jim Fuda.

What’s Next in the Ongoing Search

Authorities are continuing to comb through tips and leads while expanding outreach across Washington and neighboring states. The large reward reflects the case’s critical urgency and the deep empathy felt nationwide for Jonathan and his family. In the meantime, the public is asked to remain vigilant and report any information immediately.

Anyone with knowledge of Jonathan Hoang’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crimestoppers of Puget Sound at 800-222-TIPS or submit tips via mobile phone apps. The search remains active as friends, family, and law enforcement hold onto hope for his safe return.
